1. When does the plot take place?
--------Post-Ant Man/Pre-Civil War. Anything after the end of that movie, you can do whatever you want with character storylines. Make up your own, borrow plot elements from upcoming movies or existing/upcoming episodes of the TV shows. Go crazy and have fun.
2. What about shows that haven't aired yet, characters we don't know a lot about, or characters from stuff Marvel hasn't filmed yet?
--------For the Netflix series and undeveloped Marvel Studios properties, use your best judgement. The MCU seems to take inspiration from both the Marvel Mainstream Comics Continuty (Earth-616) and Ultimates, picking and choosing plot or character aspects from each. We're not saying you should absolutely do that, just take whichever one you're more familiar with and tweak it to exist in the MCU. For characters that have existing comic connections with other characters, try not to use those or plot them out separately with the involved parties.
3. My original character is related to a canon, is that alright?
------I'm going to say “only if they're alluded to having family relationships in the source material” and "if it's cool with the canon". Source material in this case being the films and tv shows that have already aired. (For example, Grant Ward claims he has a sister that we've never officially met, as in we don't know name or personality or anything. If you want to explore that, they can probably be used for that purpose.) If those conditions are not met, it won't be allowed.
Undeveloped/unaired properties will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
4. I really really like this plotline from the comics, but it's not in the movies or shows.
------Hey, go for it. We're post Ant-Man. So long as the other person/persons involved are okay with it.
5. I ship [insert pairing here], is that allowed here?
------Only if the other person is okay with it.
6. What about Wolverine/X-Men/Fantastic Four?
------The film rights to those properties are held by other distribution companies (thus, technically putting them in different universes). While they are still Marvel Comics properties, X-Men and Fantastic Four are held by 20th Century Fox. If the rights revert back, or a deal is struck, as in the case of Spider Man, they will be added to the available canon list. Until that time, however, they will remain unplayable.
7. What about Norse Mythology that either wasn't in the comics or didn't get enough page time?
------Absolutely. Most Norse mythology figures would be classed as Aesir/Vanir and are more than welcome. Those that aren't Aesir or Vanir can be classed however the player wants.
