⇀ "Yeah, well, I guess they're my mess." ↼
His list of friends has always been on the shorter end of the spectrum, and, with everything the world has thrown at him over the last few years, you can't really blame him. The main people that come to mind when he starts talking friends are his teammates on the Avengers. Then you also have to throw in his friends from his career in SHIELD. He's essentially fought two wars with these people, and he's come to view them as essentially extended family. They've all got their quirks and flaws, but Clint wouldn't have them any other way. After all, how can one trust someone that doesn't have secrets of some kind?
One thing can be said without a doubt though: Clint Barton is loyal to these people. He may be stubborn, he may be a bit of a pain in the ass sometimes, he might have a sarcastic way with his words when poking fun, and he might wear his tough-guy exterior, but what you get when you push past all of that and accept that it's him being himself, he's got a great, big heart. A real giant teddy bear in some ways... He's compassionate and willing to lend a hand to those in need, willing to be a shoulder to lean on and someone to listen when the going gets rough. He won't back out on you just because the odds happen to be getting a little pressing. It might take some patience, maybe a little understanding, but he can promise he'll do his damn best to make it worth the while.

Understandably, Clint is not short on enemies. One, he's a SHIELD Agent. Two, he's an Avenger. That alone is enough to give him enemies enough to last him his lifetime and maybe then some. Professionally isn't the only way to get on his bad side though. As mentioned, he's loyal to a fault more often than not to those that he cares for, and that means that if you threaten those people, he isn't afraid to take that to heart as something of a personal threat as well. You mess with them? You mess with him, too. He isn't one to let his friends out in the cold to fight battles on their own. If they need him, he's there. Of course, he'll watch his own six, too. He isn't one to go out looking for trouble, but if you come hunting him down with the intentions of dropping it at his feet, don't expect him to just stand there and take it. It's really just that simple.

Love. Now there's an interesting story to investigate... Clint isn't all too certain on what to make of this part of his life at the moment. He has a family - or had? - but he's no longer married. His decision to return back to the team he's essentially been through two wars with after he promised he was done was a point of tension between him and Laura. They had the kids to raise, and now he was considering going back..?
A little easier to see why he's feeling uncertain about the whole thing now, huh?
He's made the decision, everything's finalized... Divorce. He left the kids with Laura. With the life he's led, there's no way to say they'd be any sort of safe if he was back in the game and actively around them a lot all at once. That was the whole reason the family was kept off of his SHIELD files in the first place, for their safety.
So they only certainty with this is that he's likely to be a little cautious. maybe even a little weary of falling in love all over again. That's definitely not to say that it can't happen, but it might take time and some patience. He's still a little shaky off of his divorce, after all, and that isn't even mentioning him reconnecting with the team again and settling in from all of that. These are something of odd times for him; it's bound to take adjustment.
