Rocket Raccoon
Guardians of the Galaxy | Unknown | Mercenary
Yeah, and that's why they call me bad company, I can't deny.
Ranger Rick. Rocky
Despite his attitude, Rocket may lower this shield a little for people he trusts or is letting in and losing a friend in any way could end up breaking him in spirit. And he actually chooses to do the right thing even if proving to not be entirely selfless and can be a little greedy. He also doesn't always mean everything he says and he will apologize when it goes too far, so long as he realizes it or someone points it out.
He is also somewhat proud of his uniqueness but he can also prove self-conscious (because of all his self-loathing) especially if he is called names like vermin, pet or rodent and he will react in a hostile manner to such slurs especially if drunk. Yet this can be turned around as he can also sometimes be emotionally pushed into doubting his own self-worth to his friends, labeling himself a monster and a freak over what was done to him. Part of him really believes the horrible things people say about him sometimes and it surprises him that he has people who care about him.

Friends They may be only family in spirit but the other Guardians of the Galaxy are top of this list. As being a hero for the first time in his life and helping them defend Xandar has made Rocket realize that he kind of does care for other beings besides himself even though he buries it under a lot of attitude and snark. Rocket's abrasive attitude just happens to be a result of the way his life went and he will come across as gruff and rude even to his friends. He also finds it hard to trust and open up to people yet once someone gets past his surly attitude and once he trusts someone, he can prove overly loyal in his own way. Enemies As Rocket's kind of a budding hero of sorts now, anyone who tries to harm innocent people or those he considers friends/allies will fall under this category and he will not think twice about trying to attack a bigger person. As he relies on his instincts, this can work to his disadvantage when going up against an opponent who's capable of outwitting him. Lovers Rocket isn't an overly romantic type so he's not looking for a love interest. He also kind of harbors some feelings for Lylla (an anthropomorphic female otter and the only other Halfworld escapee) and she is one of the two beings he trusted most in his own way (other than Groot) before he fell in with the Guardians. |
